Default demonic possesion

okay i came up with another idea about a new class. the demonic infested. these will be priests of the underworld...once necromancers, who sold their very souls for power. now inside their very mind is a demonic force capable of influencing their thoughts and actions, as well as putting the power of the underworl behind their will. this class would focus highly on their primary attribute...which sounds gay at first but makes a little bit more sense after you think about it. sensitivity. this would be the demonic posseseds primary attribute. sensitivity would control how much the demon can channel its power through the possesed. the higher the points the more powerful its demonic powers are. this class would have the three other attributes of underworld powers, juxtaposition and finally the ability for the demon to temporarily possess another. okay lets break those down. the underworld powers cause death by bringing death to the riteous. these powers devour good energies. such as healing spells or enchantments, my ideas for this would be spells like, for 10 seconds target can not be healed for more than 100 from any one spell, things such as that.. a possible elite would be target can not be healed above 60% total health, things such as targets enchantments last half as long. these would be hexes of course, much like a necro but with different effects as i have stated above. juxtaposition would be the demon bringing the underworld and this world together almost as one. these spells would promote damage dealing on many levels, things like any in radius of spell suffer from degeneration of 2 ticks. or any in radius lose 10 health every time struck by physical dmg or if target foe suffers from hex all others in area are hexed with degeneration of 1tick....this attribute could be highly damaging if used correctly causing high degen to all near by foes by casting several spells at once....the down turn of these spells would be very high energy costs. okay going back to the primary attribute....the demonic possesed class would have to have fairly high points spent into this to be able to function. sensitivity would ease the abilility of the demon to channel its power. this would lower the energy cost of all the demons spells by a certain appropriate percentage(im not even going to pretend what appropriate would be, it would have to be tested thoroughly so as not to make the demon too powerful or too weak) finally on to the demons last and final attribute its ability to possess another besides who it resides in currently. this would be a very tricky thing to handle...it would have to do with hexes that would allow the caster to do several things such as making a opponant move to or away from the caster for a limited amount of time, it would also be capable of casting spells against its own team for a very short amount of time. like enough time for the demon to make the opponant cast a spell or three on its own team. these spells would be picked at random from the hexed individual and it could either be bad or good, the demon wouldnt have enough control to make it do exactly what it wants. this attribute would also be able to turn pets apon their masters for a short amount of time....while using a possesion spell the demon would not be able to cast any other spells requiring the demonic powers. this is just an outline and very very open to changes

Do you mean sort of like a oponent control? Bcause dom mesmers do that job kinda, but I get your point..

So /notsigned for now, because its kinda an undeveloped idea.

yes it would be alot like the mesmers domination magic but different becuase it wouldnt be things like if targets attacks hes dmged or if target casts hes dmged or interupts...it would be making the target do something....like a skill would be to make them use their attack skill on themselves or cast an enchantment on you or your allies, things like that

There is this key about halfway to the right of your keyboard it has enter written on it, it is used to make paragraphs in text, paragraphs are useed to make a text more legable.

As for the class, necromacers that bargain with deomns in the underworld can't because there are no demons in the underworld in GW, those are Evil/lost souls and the minions of Grenth sent to torment those souls.

We however have seen demons in GW which came from the realms fo the 3 outcast/fallen gods, of which Abbadon is one.
The realms of these fallen gods could be reached and then somone could get possesed, that is not the bad part in the story of your class.
The problem is that you have a necro do it, to become more powerfull, that is a direct indication that this class will be somehow extended from a necro.

Whitch they are with their hexes, healing prevention is in the necro spell list, 2/3 of healing actually reduces most healing to less than 100, 90-150 is about the range of good healing spells, and the way its written your sugestion still heals for 150 as you forgot to account for the effects fo devinefavor and devine boon.

Suffering does exactly that it gives 2 health degen to foes nearby target foe.

The cast spells on random target, run around randomly type of possesion spells.

May be worth a bit, though scrambeling a opponens skillbar, randomly retargeting his spells, and so on and so forth, have been sugested before they have (far as I know) never been sugested as possesion, I guess for PvP posesion, scrambeling your foe is a way to do it that does not cause insane lagg does not put you in direct controll over a other players character, does not mess with team swiching I guess it might... just might be a balancable form of possesion.

other than that this class would be a N/Me with a gimpy build, perhaps cultis fevor to simulate the energy cost reducing.

As of it the sugestion needs work(and formatting), I'm however glad you did not suggest heath stealing that would have been really bad.

hey yeah we can all critique people on their legability but if you can read it who really cares? if i wanted to be a prick i could say wow there is this thing called the tab button on the keyboard. its used to mark the beginning of new paragraphs. it makes things a little bit more legible and easier to understand. but im not a prick so im not. okay this was just an idea and open for critism but dont be such douche bags about it, jesus. yes there are spells similiar too the spells i was suggesting but im not saying this proffesion should have a spell like it, im saying they should have a whole group of spells devoted to this. it will be more of a them. juxtaposition is the merging of two things, what im saying is the demon would temporarily merge the underworld with reality and create adverse effects to your opponants. many things could spawn from this not just effects like the degeneration. you come up with the ideas, it was a suggestion to be thought about. not something ive worked hours on.

I doubt anyone was trying to be a douchebag, it's just that if you actually want comments and criticism on your idea, it's best to type it in a way that doesn't make the reader's head explode.

The idea of a demon hunter or a demonologist is pretty appealing to me, but for it to be a well crafted class, it would have to distance itself from the existing dark caster, Necromancers. Like System_crush mentioned, alot of your ideas for spells exist as Necromancer spells or hexes.

(This is actually the name of my character (though possession is spelled correctly), as I envisioned my necromancer as being a medium through which those of the underworld could speak and act])

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Let's see if I got this right:

1) Underdeveloped, horribly formatted CC posted.
2) Responses posted which point out the underdevelopment and horrible format.
3) Response by original poster calling people douchebags.

Like it or not, legibility (a.k.a. readability) matters to readers. What is the point of writing on a forum if you don't actually listen to responses? Otherwise, just save your ideas to your desktop and don't put them in a public space.

I like the general idea of reverse righteousness, although the way you've described it is just a rehashing of existing skills. Other than that, I don't see much to go on. Plus my eyes hurt...
